AIM AND OBJECTIVES
Pakhtuns intellectuals have watched the state of
Pakhtuns for a long time. One the one hand they have
taken pride in the glorious Pakhtun heritage and on the
other hand they have resented over their material
backwardness and have contemplated as to how to uplift
the Pakhtuns. On 21st January, 2006, enlightened
academicians, intellectuals, scholars and writers—both
men & women—of Pakhtunkhwa after long discussion and
deliberation decided to establish BAACHA KHAN RESEARCH
CENTER in Baacha Khan Markaz Peshawar. The Center has
the following aims and objectives.
INTRODUCTION:
Article 1
BAACHA KHAN RESERCH CENTER is a non-partisan research
center working independently under Baacha Khan Trust.
The Center is striving for all academic work and
practical objectives and research about various strata
of the entire Pakhtunkhwa—Lower & Upper Pakhtunkhwa—in
the field of, politics, culture, economy, education,
history, sociology, anthropology, art and craft,
literature and languages.
Article 2
The name of the Center Baacha Khan Research Center (BKRC)
is hereafter mentioned as Center
in the Manifesto.
Article 3
The Center is a non-profit organization and will accept
only such financial assistance, which doesn’t in any way
compromise its independence.
Article 4
The Center comprises of the Director, Joint Director,
Deputy Director publications, Deputy Director
Information Technology, Advisory Board, Research Fellows
and Secretaries.
Article 5
The Center is established in Peshawar but planning to
establish its offices in all other parts of the entire
Pakhtunkhwa—lower and upper Pakhtunkhwa.
Article 6
The Center will establish close liaison and
collaboration with all NGOs and other national and
international organization and associations working for
peace, democracy, human rights, and educational and
literary development of the people.
Article 7
The Center impartially accepts material cooperation in
extensive fields such as Technical Skills to the
scholarly aspects of the Pakhtun/Afghan society.
Article 8
All publications of the Center will be published in
Pashtu, Dari and English, Urdu and if the circumstances
demand, in any language recognized by UNESCO.
Article 9
The Center will try to work hard for the well-being and
welfare of urban and rural women both individually and
socially, and will provide modern up to date knowledge
and education for their awareness.
Article 10
The Center will promote and develop social, political,
economic and cultural values and activities in the light
of the UN charter for Human Rights. It will strive for
human rights, participation, democracy and pluralism.
Article 11
The Center is duty bound to promote and encourage all
scholars and researchers to contribute in all fields of
knowledge and public awareness programs and planning.
Article 12
The Center will encourage, promote and publish specific
research projects concerning social, economic, cultural
and political rights of the Pakhtun/Afghan.
Article 13
The Center will organize seminars, symposiums, workshops
and meetings for the cultural, intellectual and
educational development of the people. It will evolve
new strategies for finding solutions to the problems and
issues that arise.
Article 14
The Center will organize short and long courses in
various branches of knowledge for the young generation.
All modern apparatus of learning i.e., video and visual
equipment will be utilized effectively.
Article 15
The Center will organize seminars and conferences
regarding current issues and problems whenever
necessitated.
Article 16
The Center will try to provide opportunities to all
those students who have completed their studies, and
will also initiate contracts for students who are
interested in further studies in international
educational institutions.
Article 17
The Center will try to establish a well-equipped library
with all local, national and international journals,
newspapers etc.
The Organization:
Article 18
The organization of the Center is
as follow:
1. Director
2. Joint Director
3. Deputy Director IT
4. Deputy Director Publications.
5. Advisory Board
6. Research Fellows
7. Secretaries.
Article 19
The Director of the Center will perform the following
duties:
1. To participate on behalf of the Center in all-local,
national and international meetings,
seminars and conferences and to defend the rights and
scholastic status of the Center,
2. To sign agreements and protocols with other
institutions and organizations on behalf of
the Center and for the Center,
3. To sign, receive and reply all correspondence of the
center.
4. To supervise all literary, financial and
organizational matters of the Center,
5. To organize and chair the meetings.
The Joint Director, Deputy Directors, Research Fellows
of the Center will be appointed by the Director with the
approval of the Executive Body of the Baacha Khan Trust.
The duties of the joint / Deputy Directors will be as
follows:
1. To assist the Director in his daily duties,
2. To perform all the duties of the Director in his
absence.
The Center will try to establish separate sections for
the political, social, economic and cultural issues,
problems and their solution concerning Pashtuns/Afghans
under the supervision of some eminent intellectuals,
academicians and researchers. All sections will work
under their own respective heads and will co-ordinate as
a team with other members of the concerned sections.
The Center will have its own regular and incidental
publications. These organs will be in Pashtu, English
and Urdu. It will also publication of books, journals
and pamphlets.
All publications of the Center will be of international
standard and according to the new research methodology.
The Center will have an Advisory Board. The members of
the Advisory Board are selected by the Director with the
recommendation of Executive Body from Pashtun/Afghan and
foreign scholars, professionals, experts and
intellectuals. The duty of the Advisory Board is to
inform the Director about new political, cultural,
economic, educational, historical, sociological, and
anthropological and other developments such as in the
field of art and craft, literature and languages etc;
and can advise on other related matters. |
